Common questions
Who retains design responsibility?
It's agreed in writing before production starts. By default EP works within your design authority, producing and coordinating information to your design intent. Where EP takes design responsibility for an element, that is set out explicitly in the scope for that package.
What information do you need to start?
Typically the current drawings and model, the specification, your BEP or CAD standards, and the programme dates you're working to. If some of that is missing we'll tell you what can and can't be delivered from what you have.
How is a package priced?
A fixed fee against a defined scope, quoted after we've reviewed the information. Ongoing support is quoted as reserved monthly capacity rather than open-ended time.
What software do you work in?
Revit and AutoCAD for production and coordination, Navisworks for clash review, Dialux and Relux for lighting calculations, and Excel-based registers for schedules and submittal tracking. We work in your file structure and version.
Is our project information kept confidential?
Yes. Project information is used only to deliver the agreed scope, never shared, and we'll sign your NDA. Models and drawings are exchanged through your CDE or an individually issued secure link — never through this website.
Are you an electrical contractor?
No. EP provides engineering services. Installation, testing and certification remain with the Registered Electrical Contractor.
